Mark Schuck Open and Multi Final Results
Brooklynn Chipps posted a first place finish with an NCAA provisional and season-best mark in the weight throw to lead the Wayne State College women's track and field team at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi indoor track and field meet held in Mankato, Minnesota. The meet attracted 16 teams from NCAA Division II and III along with NAIA levels.
Wayne State was fifth in the team standings with 58 points. Host Minnesota State was the women's champion with 222.5 points followed by Augustana (127) and Sioux Falls third (75) while Concordia-St. Paul edged WSC by 1.5 points (59.5 – 58) for fifth place.
Chipps recorded a first-place finish with a mark of 63' 7 ½", an NCAA provisional mark that now ranks sixth in NCAA Division II.
Senior
Kendra Paasch notched a strong third place finish in the weight throw at 54' 2 ¾' and was fourth in the shot put at 42' 8 ¾".
Sophomore
Brooke Languis had a second place effort in the shot put with a top throw of 44' 9".
Grand Island Northwest junior
Emily Smollen took fourth in the long jump (17' 8 ¼") and was eighth in the triple jump at 35' 3".
Other fourth place finishes came from freshman
Anna Coffee in the pentathlon with 3,135 points, freshman
Jozlyn Barnes came in fourth in the 800-meter run (2:30.19) and
Keyla Sambo had a fourth place mark in the triple jump at 36' 7 ¾".
Sprinter
Sarah Cotton had a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.22 seconds while
Kelsey Larsen was fifth in the 3,000-meter run at 10:53.52.
Wayne State will compete at the Concordia Invite in Seward on Friday, February 3.
