For the third straight week the Wayne State College volleyball team is ranked #1 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon. The 14-1 Wildcats received 44 first-place votes and 1,172 points in voting conducted by 47 various coaches in NCAA Division II.
Wayne State is coming off three wins last week, beating Peru State 3-0 in Wayne followed by a pair of top 10 NSIC road sweeps at then #6 St. Cloud State and then #10 Minnesota Duluth over the weekend. The 'Cats play three NSIC home matches this week, starting Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. hosting Winona State (11-3, 4-2 NSIC) followed by weekend home contests vs. Bemidji State Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday against Minnesota Crookston at 4 p.m.
