Concordia Classic Final Results
Wayne State College recorded three event wins Friday evening at the Concordia Classic Women's Indoor Track and Field Meet in Seward. The meet attracted 14 teams from NCAA Division II and III and NAIA levels.
Junior
Emily Smollen had a first place finish in the long jump at 17' 11 ½" and was second in the triple jump with a mark of 36' 5 ¾".
Junior
Keyla Sambo scored a first place mark in the triple jump (37' 3") and had a eighth place mark in the long jump at 16' 9 ¼".
Senior sprinter
Sarah Cotton recorded the other first place finish crossing the line first in the 200-meter dash in 26.21 seconds while collecting a sixth place finish in the 60-meter dash finals at 7.98 seconds.
Junior
Kelsey Larsen came in second in the 1,000-meter run in 3:05.70 followed by
Kylie Pachta in fourth place (3:08.00) and
Alison Stineman seventh with a time of 3:12.62.
Sophomore sprinter
Maya Couch was third in the 60-meter dash finals in 7.94 seconds
The Wildcats had three runners place in the 5,000-meter run as
Brooke Solomon was fourth (20:14.58),
Maelee Beacom sixth at 20:40.69 and
Madeline Kunz seventh at 20:51.99.
Faith Polacek registered a third place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:31.07 and freshman
Jozlyn Barnes was sixth with a time of 2:32.09.
Freshman
Lindsey Kneifl posted a sixth place mark in the triple jump at 35' ¼" and sophomore
Brooke Languis had a fifth place finish in the shot put at 43' 7 3/4".
Senior thrower
Brooklynn Chipps competed at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite in Lincoln in the weight throw and came up with an impressive second place finish with a top mark of 63' 4 ¼" in a strong field of 13 Division I throwers.
Wayne State will compete in two meets next weekend as the Wildcats compete Friday and Saturday at the Minnesota State Massive Meet while other members of the Wayne State team will be at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet in Yankton on Saturday.
