Wayne State posted a 5-0 victory over Ottawa (Kan.) in the first-ever home beach volleyball match at the WSC Outdoor Recreation Complex in Wayne Tuesday morning/afternoon. The Wildcats move to 9-4 following the win while the Braves are 1-14.
The 1's pairing saw
Taya Beller and
Allie Petry rally in the first set for a 21-18 win followed by a 21-10 win to sweep the match.
Kelsie Cada and
Jordan McCormick cruised to a 21-5, 21-4 victory in the 2's match while the 3's duo of
Isabelle Vacek and
Ally Beresford posted a 21-14, 21-13 sweep.
In the 4's match,
Brooke Peltz and
Rachel Walker registered a 21-9, 22-20 win and in the 5's pairing Wayne State's
Maggie Brahmer and
Havyn Heinz rallied for a 20-22, 21-16, 15-11 win. The exhibition match saw Wayne State's
Taylor Bunjer and
Grace Baumert win 21-13, 21-18.
Wayne State and Ottawa played another match Tuesday afternoon to close the doubleheader.
