Wayne State College opened their 2023 spring break beach volleyball schedule Tuesday morning with a 4-1 victory over Park Gilbert University of Arizona at Bell Bank Park in Mesa, Arizona.  The Wildcats are now 1-2 on the year while the Buccaneers have a 2-2 record.
            The Wildcats #1 pairing of Taya Beller and Allie Petry and #2 duo of Kelsie Cada and Jordan McCormick both posted 2-1 wins.  Cada and McCormick rallied from a first set loss to win 14-21, 21-10, 15-10 while Beller and Petry posted a 21-15, 18-21, 15-12 victory.
            Isabelle Vacek and Ally Beresford scored a 2-0 sweep in the 3's pairing while the #5 duo of Maggie Brahmer and Havyn Heinz captured a 2-0 win.
            Wayne State is scheduled to face Benedictine Mesa in another match Tuesday afternoon in Mesa, Arizona.
