Quentin Dreyer was the top finisher for the Wayne State College men's cross country team at the NCAA Central Region Championships held Saturday morning in Joplin, Missouri at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. As a team, Wayne State finished 26
th place with a team score of 721 points.
East Central (Okla.) edged Northwest Missouri State 71-76 for the team title with Pittsburg State third at 103 points. Washburn (175) and Nebraska-Kearney (176) rounded out the top five teams.
Dreyer was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line on the 10,000-meter course with a time of 33:03.83 to place 110
th overall out of a field of 213 runners. Freshman
Ethan Walters was next in 126
th place at 33:28.25 with
Brody Lucas in 145
th place in a time of 33:55.02.
