The Wayne State College beach volleyball team defeated Park Gilbert (Ariz.) Tuesday afternoon 4-1 at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona.  The Wildcats are now 3-1 on the year while the Buccaneers fall to 2-12.
            Wayne State's #1 pairing of Taya Beller and Allie Petry picked up a 2-1 win, rallying for a 19-21, 21-11 and 15-10 victory.   
The other three Wildcat wins were by sweeps, coming from Ella Myler and Brooke Peltz in the 3's pairing 21-12, 21-13, Brooklyn Kusler and Molly Romano at #4 21-8 and 21-14 and Taylor Bunjer and Rhianna Wilhelm in the 5's match 21-15, 21-13.
            Freshmen Laney Kathol and Gracen Evans picked up a 2-0 win in the exhibition match.
            Individual match scores were not available.
