The Wayne State College beach volleyball team improved to 4-1 on the season Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over Mesa Community College played at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona. The Thunderbirds are now 4-6 on the season.
Individual match scores were not available but Wayne State won all four matches in sweeps in the 2's match with
Jordan McCormick and
Channatee Robles, #3 pairing of
Ella Myler and
Brooke Peltz, the 4's duo of
Brooklyn Kusler and
Molly Romano and the 5's pairing of
Taylor Bunjer and
Rhianna Wilhelm.
Wayne State also picked up a 2-1 win in the exhibition match with
Jordie Nekl and
Kaelyn Andersen picking up the win for the Wildcats.
Wayne State will play two more matches Wednesday in Arizona, facing Park Gilbert University at 10 a.m. and the top-ranked team in NAIA beach volleyball Ottawa University (Ariz.) at 12 p.m.
