Wildcats edge Park Gilbert (Ariz.) 3-2

            One day after picking up a 4-1 win over Park University Gilbert (Ariz.), the Wayne State College beach volleyball team had to battle before picking up a 3-2 victory over the Buccaneers Wednesday morning at the Arizona Regional Volleyball Facility in Mesa, Arizona.  The Wildcats are now 5-1 on the year while the Buccaneers fall to 2-13.
            Two of the five matches went all three sets with Wayne State winning one and losing another.  The 4's pairing of Brooklyn Kusler and Molly Romano rallied for a 2-1 win 18-21, 21-14, 16-14 while the #1 pairing of Taya Beller and Allie Petry suffered a 2-1 defeat by scores of 21-12, 17-21, 15-13.
            Wayne State recorded sweeps in the 3's and 5's matchups as Ella Myler and Brooke Peltz won 21-16, 21-15 in the 3's pairing while Taylor Bunjer and Rhianna Wilhelm collected a 2-0 win in the 5's duo by scores of 21-10, 21-10.  The Wildcat #2 pairing of Jordan McCormick and Channatee Robles were defeated 2-0 in set scores of 21-19, 21-19.
            Freshmen Laney Kathol and Gracen Evans picked up a 2-0 win in the exhibition match.
            Individual match scores were not available.
