'Cats notch second straight win in Florida, 3-1 over Emmanuel (Ga.)

            #13 seed Wayne State defeated #14 seed Emmanuel University of Georgia in the challenge match Saturday afternoon at the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championships in Tavares, Florida.  It was the second straight win for the Wildcats, now 9-5 on the season, while the Emmanuel University Lions fall to 11-19.   
            Wayne State got wins from the 3,4 and 5 pairings Saturday afternoon.  The 3's duo of Brooke Peltz and Ella Myler collected a 21-8, 21-14 win over Emmanuel's Aaliyah Lobendahn and Lauren Pace.  Brooklyn Kusler and Molly Romano won the 4's match 21-14, 21-17 against Rachel McGlamery and Cailin Pritchard from Emmanuel while the 5's team of Taylor Bunjer and Rhianna Wilhelm won easily 21-7, 21-5 over Emmanuel's Hannah Farrar and Alondra Rios.
            The 2's duo of Jordan McCormick and Channatee Robles lost 21-18 and 21-15 while the #1 match with Taya Beller and Allie Petry vs. Emmanuel was unfinished due to wins registered by WSC to take the match 3-1.
            With two wins Saturday, Wayne State advances to the Bronze Bracket on the final day of the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championships against an opponent that will be announced Saturday evening.
