Camryn Johnson was the top Wayne State finisher at the season-opening Battle at Bayside Women's Golf Invitational played Monday and Tuesday at Bayside Golf Club in Brule, Nebraska as the Wildcats placed fourth with a team score of 650.
Host Nebraska-Kearney captured the team title with a 624, 16 shots better than second-place Northwest Missouri State at 640. Southwest Minnesota State edged Wayne State 648-650 for third place with Nebraska-Kearney B team in fifth at 655. Chadron State (674), Fort Hays State (676) and Concordia (Neb.) at 738 closed out the team scoring.
Johnson, a freshman from Broken Bow High School, tied for sixth overall, shooting 157 with rounds of 77 and 80. Albion senior

th overall with a score of 164 (80-84) with sophomore
Hailey Kenkel (Grand Island) right behind at 165 in 15
th place following rounds of 83 and 82.

th overall at 170 (86-84) with junior
Saffire Sayre shooting 172 (82-90) to finish 29
th overall.
The next meet for Wayne State College is Monday and Tuesday, September 16 and 17, when the Wildcats play in Hudson, Wisconsin at the Golden Bear Fall Brawl hosted by Concordia-St. Paul.
