The Wayne State College beach volleyball team edged Mesa Community College 3-2 Sunday afternoon in the second match played between the two teams at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona.  The 'Cats are now 5-2 on the year while Mesa CC is 8-7.
            Scores of individual matches were not available early Sunday evening. 
            Pairings that posted wins included Molly Romano and Brooklyn Kusler, Reese Johnson and Ella Myler and Brooke Peltz and Rhianna Wilhelm.
            Both Wildcat losses at the #1 (Taylor Bunjer/Ava Spies) and #2 pairings (Chloe Hanel/Channatee Robles) came in three sets.
            In the exhibition contest, Wayne State's Anna Borner and Laney Kathol posted a straight-set win
            Wayne State plays two more matches Monday in Arizona battling Park University Gilbert at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa starting at 12 p.m. Central Time.
