For the first time in school history, the Wayne State women's golf team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships. The tournament field was announced late Monday afternoon by NCAA and the Wildcats were one of 18 teams to qualify for the NCAA Central Regional which will take place May 5-7 at KickingBird Golf Course in Edmond, Oklahoma and hosted by Central Oklahoma.
Wayne State was announced as the #15 seed by the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee out of the 18 teams that were selected for the NCAA Central Regional along with six individuals from non-qualifying schools.
WSC was ranked 17
th in the final regional rankings that came out before last weekend's NSIC Championships, where the Wildcats placed third in Smithville, Missouri.
