Reilly Young wins discus on final day of NSIC Track and Field Championships

            Reilly Young won the discus while sophomore Torrance Tso earned All-NSIC honors in the same event with a third-place finish Saturday to lead the Wayne State women's track and field team on the final day of the 2025 Northern Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota.  As a team, the Wildcats finished eighth place out of 14 teams with 38 points and ended with one NSIC champion and three other All-NSIC finishers (top three in individual event). 
            Minnesota State captured the women's team title for a fourth straight season with 224 points followed by UMary in second at 143.  Augustana (88), Sioux Falls (78) and Winona State (57) closed out the top five teams.  Northern State edged Minnesota Duluth by one point – 54-53 – for sixth place – and Wayne State was eighth with 38.
            Rounding out the team scoring were Concordia-St. Paul (27), MSU Moorhead (20), Bemidji State (19), Minot State (12) and Southwest Minnesota State (6). 
            Young, a senior from Scotia (Central Valley HS), posted a top mark of 164' 11" to win the discus while Tso, a sophomore from Norfolk (Norfolk HS), collected All-NSIC honors placing third in the event with a top mark of 154' 2". 
            Young also had an All-NSIC finish Friday in the hammer throw placing third with a toss of 162' 8". 
            Wayne State's other All-NSIC performer was senior thrower Hailey Baker who posted a second-place finish Friday in the hammer throw at 180' 9". 
            Other points scored by the Wildcats came from Olivia Schwarzrock taking fourth in the shot put at 45' 10" and McKenna Markle earned a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw (153' 0").
