Torrance Tso have qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado May 22-24. The official list of all national qualifiers was announced Tuesday afternoon by NCAA. Both athletes will compete in the discus on Friday, May 23
rd at 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
Young, a senior from Scotia (Central Valley HS), is an NCAA national qualifier in the discus for the second time in her Wildcat career after making nationals in 2023 as a redshirt sophomore. She has the third-best mark in NCAA Division II this season at 171' 0" recorded April 30
th at the Maverick Open in Mankato, Minnesota. Young captured the NSIC individual championship in the discus last weekend in Duluth, Minnesota with a top mark of 164' 11".
Tso, a sophomore from Norfolk (Norfolk HS), is an NCAA national qualifier for the first time. She earned All-NSIC honors at last weekend's conference championships with a throw of 154' 2". Tso's season-best mark of 158' 10" came at the South Dakota Challenge on April 11
th and she is ranked 17
th in NCAA Division II entering nationals.
