Wayne State College sophomore outfielder
Jordyn Klein has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District softball team released Tuesday morning. A graduate of Millard West High School, Klein maintained a 3.67 grade point average majoring in exercise science during the 2025 softball season.
The 2025 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's to student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of games played or start in at least 66 percent of games while also maintaining a minimum 3.50 grade point average.
Klein started 53 games in the outfield this season for the Wildcats and posted a .311 batting average. She was second on the team in hits (57) and had 16 multi-hit games while scoring 24 runs from the leadoff position. Klein had a team-high 183 at-bats, a nine-game hit streak and tied for the team lead with three triples. She had a nine-game hit streak on the Florida spring break trip, highlighted by a pair of 3 for 4 games with Concord (NC) March 9
th and vs. Queens (NY) March 12
th. Klein also had a 3 for 3 game with a double and RBI vs. Dordt on February 5
th.
Wayne State finished the 2025 season with a record of 31-24 overall and was eighth place in the NSIC with a 14-13 league record. It was the first 30-win season for the Wildcats since 2016 as the team posted a 23-game win improvement from last season, the best improvement by all NCAA Division II softball teams this season.
