Kennadi Borngrebe has been named NSIC Softball Pitcher of the Week after her performance over the weekend on the Dr. Ron Holt Field at the Wildcat Dome Triangular softball tournament. This is Borngrebe's fourth time being named Pitcher of the Week as a Wildcat and first of the season.
Over the weekend, the Elkhorn South High School product went 2-0 to kickstart the 2026 season to a 4-0 start. Borngrebe threw a complete game against the University of Nebraska Kearney, giving up only one run on three hits and striking out 12 batters, tying her career high in Ks for the fourth time.
In her second appearance in the pitching circle against Chadron State, she struck out seven of the 12 batters she faced batters in 3.1 innings.
The red shirt-sophomore went 4-11 from the plate and recorded four RBIs and five runs scored in four games.
The 'Cats start 4-0 for the second consecutive season and will be traveling to Sioux Center, Iowa to take on the Dordt Defenders in a double header in the Dordt Dome Wednesday evening. First pitch in game one is set for 5:30 p.m.
