The Wayne State College beach volleyball team opened the 2026 season Friday afternoon with a 5-0 sweep over the Trinidad State Trojans of Colorado at the UNL Campus Beach Courts in Lincoln.  It was the season opener for both clubs.
            All five matches along with the exhibition contest were Wildcat sweeps.  The #1 pairing of Taylor Bunjer and Anna Borner posted a 21-18, 21-17 victory.  In the 2s duo match it was Wayne State's Channatee Robles and Chloe Hanel picking up a 21-16, 21-8 win.
            Reese Johnson and Mattie Kamery won the 3's match in a 21-9, 21-14 sweep.  Ella Myler and Molly Romano posted a win in the 4's pairing 21-15, 21-11 and in the 5's pairing it was JoLee Ryan and Delaney Miller collecting a 21-13, 21-13 win.
            In the exhibition match Mia Berg and Boe Kaschner recorded a 21-10, 21-12 victory.
