Wayne State battled Nebraska tough, winning one match and taking two others all three sets before falling 4-1 in a beach volleyball match played Friday afternoon at the UNL Campus Beach Courts in Lincoln.  The Wildcats captured two of three exhibition matches that were played.  WSC drops to 1-1 on the year while the Huskers move to 3-0.
            Wayne State's #3 pairing of Reese Johnson and Mattie Kamery scored a 21-17, 20-22, 17-15 victory over Nebraska's Laney Choboy and Skyler Pierce.
            Two matches went all three sets as Ella Myler and Molly Romano dropped a hard fought 21-18, 18-21, 12-15 contest to Nebraska's #4 duo of Olivia Mauch and Manaia Ogbechie while the 5's pairing of JoLee Ryan and Delaney Miller also battled three sets before suffering a 14-21, 21-15, 11-15 setback to Nebraska's Keri Leimbach and Jayden Robinson.
            The #1 pairing saw Wayne State's Taylor Bunjer and Anna Borner fall to Bergen Reilly and Teraya Sigler 21-12, 21-8 and in the 2's match it was Channatee Robles and Chloe Hanel battling Andi Jackson and Harper Murray extra points in both sets before ending up short 22-20, 22-20.
            The Wildcats won two of the three exhibition matches as Bunjer and Borner picked up a 22-20, 21-15 win against Kenna Cogill and Campbell Flynn while Myler and Romano defeated Ryan Hunter and Keoni Williams 21-14, 21-10.  Mia Berg and Kaelyn Andersen fell to Virginia Adriano and Gabby DiVita 21-9, 21-14.
            Wayne State's next match is Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln against Oklahoma Wesleyan at 1:30 p.m.
