KIRCHNER SETS NEW DOME RECORD, MURPHY, KRUSEMARK, KELLUM & WILLIAMS ADD EVENT WINS FOR WILDCATS

            Junior Callie Kirchner highlighted the day for the 'Cats with her new Wildcat Dome record in the 1000-meter run, taking 1st in the event. Reagan Murphy, Kyla Krusemark, Kailee Kellum, and Jalecia Williams also grabbed first-place wins at the Wildcat Invite held in Wayne Friday afternoon and evening on Dr. Ron Holt Track inside the Wildcat Dome.
            Kirchner battled from the middle of the pack and picked up the top spot as she sprinted across the finish line with her time of 3:03.52, a new personal best and the new facility record at the Dr. Ron Holt track in the Wildcat Dome.
            Murphy added another first-place finish to her resume as she was the top time of 8.86 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles followed by teammate Breylee Botts in fourth.
            Krusemark was able to pull away with the win in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:20.23, besting the second-place runner by seven tenths of a second. Meghan Cunningham crossed in fifth place in the same event.
            Kellum, the junior transfer, jumped 18' 2½" in the long jump and freshman Ava Leinen followed up with a 17' 8¾" leap for second place. Kellum also finished seventh in the triple jump.
            Williams set a new personal best in the women's shot put with her toss of 44' 7" and claimed the top spot. Olivia Schwarzrock finished sixth in the event and took second place in the weight throw.
            The women's 4x400 meter relay, comprised of Murphy, Carly Busch, Zoey Holmes, and Kaitlyn Bloomenrader finished second with a time of 3:58.43.
            Wayne State is in action again next weekend as the Wildcat teams travel to Brookings, South Dakota Friday and Saturday for the South Dakota State Classic and compete Saturday in Seward at the Concordia Invite.
