The Wayne State College beach volleyball team opened their spring break trip to Arizona Friday afternoon with a 3-2 loss to Arizona Christian in Glendale, Arizona.  WSC is now 2-2 on the season while the Firestorm sit at 8-8 overall.
            The 'Cats opened the match with a pair of victories from the #2 and #4 pairings as Ella Myler and Molly Romano picked up a win in the 4s match 23-21, 21-12 while Channatee Robles and Chloe Hanel collected a 21-19, 21-18 win in the #2 match.
            But host Arizona Christian rallied with wins in the remaining three pairings to win the match 3-2.  Wayne State's #1 duo of Taylor Bunjer and Anna Borner suffered a 21-17, 21-14 loss, in the 3's pairing Reese Johnson and Mattie Kamery were defeated 21-12, 21-17 and in the 5s match it was Delaney Miller and Mia Berg falling by scores of 21-12, 21-18.
            Wayne State won the exhibition match as Jolee Ryan and Boe Kaschner picked up a 21-13, 21-17 win.
            The Wildcats continue their spring break trip Saturday in Arizona facing Mesa Community College in a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. Central Time.
