For the second straight week, the Wayne State College softball team has received NSIC Player of the Week honors as junior outfielder
Emilee Marth was announced Monday afternoon as this week's Northern Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week following last week's selection of sophomore catcher
Reagan Dreibelbis (dry-bull-bis).
           Marth, a graduate of Nebraska City High School, posted a .583 batting average last week in Wayne State's final four games of their Florida spring break trip going 7 for 12 at the plate. She had one homer, one triple, a double and eight RBI with six runs scored. Marth was 3 for 3 with a triple, four RBI and two runs scored in a 12-2 win over Point Park (Pa.) and went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI in a 6-5 victory vs. Northwood (Mich.).
           For the season, Marth leads Wayne State and ranks second in the NSIC with a .478 batting average. She leads the NSIC in RBI (27) and on-base percentage (.586), ranks second in OPS (on-base + slugging) at 1.354, is fifth in slugging percentage (.768), tied for fifth in home runs (4) and tied for sixth in runs scored (22).
           Wayne State is 20-4 on the season and begins Northern Sun Conference play this weekend with a road trip to Minnesota Duluth Saturday and Bemidji State Sunday.Â
