Park University of Missouri used rallies in the #4 and #5 matches to post a 3-2 win over Wayne State in beach volleyball Wednesday afternoon played in Ottawa, Kansas at the Ottawa University Campus Courts. The Pirates move to 5-0 on the season while WSC is now 8-4 overall.
Three of the five matches went all three sets. Wayne State's #2 duo of
Channatee Robles and
Chloe Hanel were on the winning side of the first three-set match as the 'Cats prevailed 21-14, 18-21, 15-11. The other Wildcat win came in a sweep from the 3s pairing of
Reese Johnson and
Mattie Kamery in a 21-14, 21-7 victory.
Wayne State's #4 and #5 pairings went three sets before suffering defeats.
Ella Myler and
Molly Romano in the 4s were defeated 19-21, 21-19, 17-15 while the 5s duo of
Mia Berg and
Delaney Miller fell 16-21, 21-16, 15-9.
The exhibition match ended in a tie as
Jolee Ryan and
Kaelyn Andersen won the first set 21-17 and dropped the second set by an identical score.
Wayne State resumes the beach season on Monday, April 13
th hosting Ottawa University of Kansas in a doubleheader at the WSC Campus Courts.
