Wayne State College improved to 8-3 on the season in beach volleyball with a 3-2 victory over Ottawa University of Kansas Wednesday afternoon in Ottawa, Kansas.
The Wildcats' #2 pairing of
Channatee Robles and
Chloe Hanel recorded a dominant 21-6, 21-8 win for the first Wildcat win. WSC then needed wins from the 4s and 5s duos to earn the win over the Braves as the 4s duo of
Ella Myler and
Molly Romano won 21-13, 21-18 while the 5s pairing of
Mia Berg and
Delaney Miller rallied for a 17-21, 21-15, 15-7 win to help the 'Cats pick up the 3-2 win.
The exhibition match saw Wayne State's
Jolee Ryan and
Boe Kaschner prevail in straight sets 21-9, 21-16.
The other two results saw a pair of three-set defeats handed to the Wildcats as the #1 pairing of
Taylor Bunjer and
Anna Borner fell 16-21, 21-17, 17-15 and the 3s duo of
Reese Johnson and
Mattie Kamery dropping a 18-21, 21-17, 15-9 decision to Ottawa.
