Three event wins, one NCAA provisional mark, for WSC women at Wildcat Outdoor Classic

            Three events wins and one NCAA provisional qualifying mark were recorded by the Wayne State women's outdoor track and field team on a windy Saturday afternoon at the 18th annual Wildcat Outdoor Classic held on Leroy Simpson Track at Bob Cunningham Field.
            Sophomore Jalecia Williams recorded the first win of the day in the shot put with a top mark of 44' 8 ¼" with teammate Olivia Schwarzrock right behind in second at 43' 7 ¾". 
            Junior Kailee Kellum was an event winner in the long jump at 18' 7 ¼" with freshman Ava Leinen in second at 18' 3 ¾".
            In the 100-meter hurdles finals, freshman Breylee Botts crossed the line first in 14.38 seconds with sophomore Reagan Murphy taking third in 14.87 seconds.
            Norfolk junior Torrance Tso recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the discus, taking third at 155' 3" with McKinley Grover placing fifth at 148' 10".
            In the 800-meter run, sophomore Jonnicia Williams took second at 2:22.40 with Kaitlyn Bloomenrader fourth at 2:23.28 and freshman Kyla Krusemark fifth in 2:24.59.
            Jerika Bakenhus had a second-place finish in the high jump clearing 5' 5", senior Anna Coffee was third in the javelin at 115' 3", Lindsey Kneifl was third in the triple jump at 36' 9 ½" with Kellum fourth (34' 7 ¾") and Taylor Arp came in fourth in the hammer throw at 171' 7".
            The 4 x 400-meter relay team of Krusemark, Bloomenrader, Zoey Holmes and Jonnicia Williams placed second in a time of 4:06.86 and the 4 x 100-meter relay team of Hadley Ayers, Alaina Nelson, Alyssa Folds and Carly Busch placed third in 50.11 seconds. 
            Wayne State continues their outdoor season next Friday and Saturday in Lincoln at the Nebraska Invite.
