Wayne State College sophomore catcher
Reagan Dreibelbis (dry – bull – bis) was named Monday afternoon as the Northern Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week following her performance in six games on the Wildcats' spring break trip in Florida.
A graduate of Omaha Marian HS and a transfer from Nebraska-Omaha, Dreibelbis hit .357 over the weekend in six games with three homers and 10 RBI's and a 1.071 slugging percentage. She hit homers in three consecutive games Saturday and Sunday, starting with a two-run homer Saturday in a 12-2 win over Queens College (NY). Dreibelbis added two-run homers Sunday in a 9-1 win over Edinboro (Pa.) and again Sunday afternoon in a 3-0 win over Ashland (Ohio). She also went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI in Friday's 8-0 win over Dominican (NY).
For the season, Dreibelbis is hitting .317 with five home runs and 15 RBI and a team-high .732 slugging percentage. She is second in the NSIC in home runs and ranks ninth in slugging percentage.
Wayne State is off to a 17-3 start and resumes play Tuesday on their spring break trip in Florida with games against Grand Valley State (Mich.) at 11:15 a.m. and Clarion (Pa.) at 1:30 p.m.
