Wayne State College capped a doubleheader win over Ottawa University of Kansas Monday afternoon with a 4-1 win over the Braves at the WSC Campus Beach Courts. The 'Cats move to 10-4 on the season with the two victories.
The Wildcats opened the match with a pair of wins in the #2 and #4 pairings as
Chloe Hanel and
Channatee Robles won 21-9, 21-9 while the 4s duo of
Ella Myler and
Molly Romano needed extra points in the first set to finish off the Braves and won 22-20, 21-15.
Wayne State's #3 and #5 pairings also picked up wins as
Reese Johnson and
Mattie Kamery rolled to a 21-8, 21-6 win with the 5s pairing of
Mia Berg and
Delaney Miller recording a 21-14, 21-12 victory.
The 'Cats also picked up a win in the exhibition contest as
Kaelyn Andersen and
Boe Kaschner won in straight sets by scores of 21-11, 21-13.
Wayne State travels to Gulf Shores, Alabama this weekend for the AVCA Small College/Division II Beach Championships.
