Samuel Zazueta competed Thursday afternoon in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas.
Zazueta had a top mark of 191' 9" on the final throw in prelims and finished in 21
st place overall. A graduate of Norfolk High School, Zazueta posted a throw of 179' 10" on his first attempt in prelims followed by a foul on the second throw with his top mark of 191' 9" coming on the third and final throw of prelims.
Ninete, a graduate of Elkhorn HS, fouled on all three attempts and prelims and ended in 22
nd place. He entered nationals with the 20
th best mark in NCAA Division II at 204' 2".
Wayne State will have two other athletes compete Friday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships as
J'Dyn Bullion is in the discus at 1:30 p.m. while junior
Cain Brown competes in the high jump at 3:30 p.m.
