2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams

            Jacob Mathieson of Wayne State College was selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Second Team released Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Mathieson, a senior from Neligh-Oakdale High School in Nebraska, carries a 3.94 grade point average majoring in geography.  
            He was one of four Wayne State seniors to receive the prestigious NSIC Myles Brand Academic with Distinction Award, maintaining at least a 3.75 cumulative grade point average.  Mathieson earned six medals at NSIC Conference Championships in the weight throw, hammer throw and discus and was selected to the NSIC All-Academic Teams the last two seasons in both indoor and outdoor track and field.  He was runner up in the hammer throw at the 2009 NSIC Outdoor Championships as a junior.
