Box Score Southwest Minnesota State 2 Wayne State 0            Southwest Minnesota State used two goals in the first ten minutes of the match to propel them to a 2-0 victory over Wayne State in Northern Sun soccer play Friday afternoon in Wayne at the Wayne State College Soccer Complex. With the win the Mustangs improve to 9-7-1 on the season with a 8-5-1 record in the NSIC while the Wildcats drop to 2-14-1 overall and a 1-13 league mark.Â
           The Mustangs were aggressive early in the match, and used that to their advantage scoring their first goal of the match in the sixth minute with a goal from Kylie Redmond, her fifth goal on the season, with the assist from Kendahl Fisher. Southwest Minnesota State kept the pressure on the Wildcats, scoring their second goal of the match just three minutes later. Lizzy Bruder scored her second goal of the season off of the assist from Kylie Redmond.Â
           For the match Southwest Minnesota State outshot Wayne State 14-6, and also had the advantage in corner kicks earning three to just one by the Wildcats. The Mustangs were also whistled for six fouls on the match to five fouls committed by Wayne State.

Josie Brown led the Wildcats offensively, each having two shots throughout the match.Â
Kyhlie Hansen and
Veronica Walker each added one shot as well.
           Sophomore goalkeeper
Kylie Comba had one save in the loss for Wayne State, and now has a record of 1-3 on the season. Freshman goalkeeper
Margaret Harma also saw playing time, making five saves in the match.
           The Wildcats will be on the road to close out the 2014 season on Sunday afternoon at the University of Sioux Falls in a 1 p.m. contest.
