Wildcat Outdoor Classic Men's Final Results
Wayne State had four first place finishers and three NCAA provisional qualifying marks as the Wildcat men's track and field team opened the outdoor season Saturday at the Wildcat Outdoor Classic at LeRoy Simpson Track in Wayne. Teams attending the meet included host Wayne State, Northern State, Sioux Falls South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota State.
Senior sprinter
Justin Rohloff collected two first place finishes in the 100 meter dash (11.42) and the 200 meter dash in 23.22 seconds.
Senior
Preston Davis won the javelin throw (161' 8") while freshman
Dylan Kneifl captured first place in the high jump clearing 6' 2 ¾".
Three Wildcats recorded NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the hammer throw. Seniors
Cade Kalkowski and
Dylan Kaup took second and third place respectively with Kalkowski surpassing the 200 foot mark with a personal best throw of 203' 2" while Kaup was right behind at 198' 6". Senior
Cole Christoffersen also hit an NCAA provisional mark placing sixth at 187' 4".
Freshman
Noah Carr had a pair of second place finishes in sprint events, taking runner up in the 100 meter dash (11.59) and in the 200 meter dash at 23.29 seconds.
Ben Allen posted a second place finish in the shot put with a heave of 52' 2 ½".
Michael Kueny had a third place in the 400 meter dash (51.61) and fifth in the 200 meter dash at 23.88 seconds.
In the hurdles,
Preston Davis was third in the 400 hurdles (1:00.11) and fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.80).
Will McGonigal took second in the 1,500 meter run at 4:23.54 and freshman
Collin Kotz was fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 10:01.00.
Cody Crosley was third in the long jump (20' 7 ¾") and was fourth in the 100 meter dash (11.81).
Wayne State will compete next on Saturday, April 3 at the UNK Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney starting at 11 a.m.
