Wayne State had three All-NSIC performers Saturday to close out the 2026 Northern Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a fifth-place team finish scoring 65.5 points.
Minnesota State captured the team title with 235 points to finish well ahead of second-place Northern State with 101.5 points. UMary was third at 101 followed by Augustana (80) and Wayne State (65.5) in the top five. Close behind WSC were MSU Moorhead in sixth with 59 points, Concordia-St. Paul seventh at 58 and Minnesota Duluth eighth with 54 points.
Sophomore sprinter
Mitchell Hupp earned All-NSIC honors with a third place finish in the 100-meter dash finals in 10.52 seconds.
J'Dyn Bullion took third in the discus at 164' 2" to earn All-NSIC honors while freshman
Bryce Larsen collected a third-place finish and All-NSIC accolades in the triple jump with a top leap of 47' 6 1/2".
Other Saturday medalists for the Wildcats included
Jaxson Ninete fourth in the discus at 156' 10",
Mujeeb Adewuyi eighth in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.79) and
Osman Saeed eighth in the 400-meter dash finals in 48.97 seconds.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of
Alex Leuenberger, Saeed,
Luke Klabenes and Hupp took fourth in 41.51 seconds and the 4 x 400-meter relay quartet of Saeed,
Austin Madsen, Leuenberger and
Henry Hushka finished eighth at 3:20.42.
Friday Wayne State saw one conference champion and two All-NSIC performers as Ninete led five Wildcats placing in the hammer throw winning the conference title at 191' 8".
Samuel Zazueta was third in the hammer throw at 190' 9" to earn All-NSIC honors and junior high jumper
Cain Brown had an All-NSIC finish taking third in the high jump at 6' 8 3/4".
Other Friday medalists included
Jake Peitz fourth in the hammer throw (179' 3"),
Alex Altman fifth at 175' 10" and
J'Dyn Bullion seventh at 170' 10".
Elliott Nottlemann tied for seventh in the high jump at 6' 7 1/2" and
Devon Schultz was eighth in the pole vault clearing 15' 3 3/4".
