Polar Dog Invite Final Results
            Junior
Emily Smollen posted a first place finish in the long jump and third in the triple jump to lead the Wayne State women indoor track and field team at the Polar Dog Invite hosted by Concordia University in Seward.
           Smollen, a graduate of Grand Island Northwest High School, recorded a top mark of 17' 6 ¾" to win the long jump and took third in the triple jump at 35' 8 ¾".
           Freshman
Lindsey Kneifl was second in the long jump (17' 5 ½") followed by teammates
Keyla Sambo in fourth at 16' 10" and
Anna Coffee eighth (16' 3 ¾").
           Other top finishers in the triple jump were Sambo in second place at 36' 4" and Kneifl sixth at 34' 1 ½".
           Junior
Kelsey Larsen collected a second place finish in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 18:56.23 with
Lindsey Stuckey fifth at 19:17.85.
           Sophomore
Maya Couch had a pair of third place finishes in the 60-meter dash finals (9.51) and 200-meter dash in 26.46 seconds.

Anna Coffee took third place in the 60-meter hurdle finals (9.51) and
Megan Hansen was fourth place in 9.52 seconds while
Brooke Solomon recorded an eighth place finish in the one mile run at in a time of 5:57.18.
           In the throws, senior
Kendra Paasch was sixth in the shot put (42; 7 ½") and weight throw (52' 9 ½") while sophomore
Brooke Languis took seventh in the shot put with a mark of 41' 10 ¾".Â
           The 'Cats will be in Mankato, Minnesota next weekend for the Mark Schuck Open and Multi Meet.
