The Wayne State women's track and field team had five top-five finishes highlighted by more strong performances by Wildcat throwers, Saturday competing at the South Dakota Challenge in Vermillion.
Junior
Reilly Young had the top Wildcat finish taking third in the discus with a mark of 148' 4". Wayne freshman
Brooklyn Kruse was fifth (137' 9") and freshman
Torrance Tso came in eighth at 126' 11".
Hailey Baker posted a fifth-place mark in the hammer throw at 168' 6" and
Olivia Schwarzrock took seventh in the shot put with a top throw of 41' ½".
In the high jump sophomore
Anna Coffee cleared 5' 4 1/2" to take fourth with
Paige Condon placing seventh at 5' ½".
Freshman
Callie Kirchner recorded a fourth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:54.52 and
Alison Stineman came in seventh at 5:00.10.
Senior
Emily Smollen had a sixth-place finish in the long jump at 17' 6" with
Lindsey Kneifl taking seventh (17' 5 ¼").
Other top finishers were
Camryn Clevenger fifth in the javelin throw at 108' 8" and
Maya Couch sixth in the 100-meter dash (12.21).
Wayne State's next meet is Friday, April 19
th at the Loper Invite in Kearney.
