Olivia Schwarzrock and freshman
Reagan Murphy each placed in two events to lead the Wayne State College women's indoor track and field team Saturday at the Concordia Classic held in Seward. The event attracted 14 teams in NCAA Division II and NAIA ranks.
Senior
Hailey Baker had the top finish for the Wildcats, collecting a second place mark in the weight throw at 55' ¾".
Schwarzrock posted a fourth-place mark in the weight throw at 53' 8 ¼" and was eighth in shot put with a top throw of 41' 4 ¼".
Murphy, a freshman sprinter from Algona, Iowa, had a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 27.00 seconds and was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles finals in 10.28 seconds.
Junior
Jozlyn Barnes had a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:32.93) with freshman
Zoey Holmes taking fifth in the 600-meter run at 1:40.46.
In the 3,000-meter run,
Madeline Kunz took fifth in a time of 11:08.74 with
Sydney Escritt right behind in sixth at 11:09.58.
Junior
Lindsey Kneifl had a sixth-place finish in the long jump (16' 10 ½") with
Taylor Thorp placing eighth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:41.32.
Wayne State will compete next weekend at the Mark Schuck Open in Mankato, Minnesota Friday and Saturday.
