Sophomore
Callie Kirchner placed second in the 1,000-meter run to lead the Wayne State College women's indoor track and field team Friday and Saturday at the South Dakota State Classic held in Brookings, South Dakota at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The meet attracted nearly 30 schools and 1,200 athletes.
Kirchner had the top Wildcat finish taking second in the 1,000-meter run at 3:06.04 while teammate
Jozlyn Barnes came in eighth at 3:18.42.
In the weight throw,
Reilly Young collected a fourth-place finish at 52' 7 ¼" while senior
McKenna Markle placed sixth at 47' 6 1/2".
Other top finishers for the Wildcats were freshman
Kaylea Bruxvoort taking fifth in the 300-meter dash in 42.87 seconds and
Anna Coffee placed sixth in the high jump clearing 5' 2 ¼".
Wayne State will be back in Brookings on Friday competing in the South Dakota State Last Chance Invite.
