Box Score Wayne State Softball picked up their 13
th win of the season after they defeated the Bentley Falcons 3-0.
Taylor Coleman threw a complete game with seven strikeouts. WSC outhit the Falcons 10-1 and forced two errors.
Both teams went down in order to start the game, Coleman striking out two of them.
WSC got on the board first with their first run.
Jordyn Rochholz singled out to left field and
Taylor Coleman scored her only run of the game. Coleman and the 'Cats defense would put down the side in second inning.
The Wildcats next run came in the fourth inning after
Lauren Laudick singled to short stop and allowed Rochholz to step on the dish.
Kennadi Borngrebe tripled to right to earn and RBI after
Emilee Marth had reached on an error.
The Wildcat defense never saw more than four batters in an inning until the 7th inning. Two Falcons had gotten on base and into scoring position, but Coleman shut the door on any comeback attempt after she struck out the last batter swinging.
Rochholz led with three hits in four appearances with one run and one RBI. Borngrebe went 2-4 and one RBI. Coleman picked up her second win of the season and WSC moves to 13-8.
Wayne State continues play Tuesday afternoon at the National Training Center Spring Games facing Northwood (Mich.) in a 2 p.m. contest at Clermont, Florida.
