Senior thrower
Reilly Young had a big day for the Wayne State women's track and field team recording an event win in the hammer throw along with a second-place finish in the discus at the Sioux City Relays.
Young's winning mark in the hammer throw was 170' 2" and her top throw in the discus was 153' 3" to place second.
Wildcat throwers had five of the top eight finishers in the hammer throw while four in the top six of the discus.
Hailey Baker was second in the hammer throw at 169' 6" with
Olivia Schwarzrock right behind in third at 162' 5". Other placers included freshman
McKinley Grover sixth (149' 2") and
Taylor Arp eighth at 147' 9".
In the discus, Wayne sophomore
Brooklyn Kruse came in fourth at 144' 11', Grover was fifth (142' 1") and
Torrance Tso finished sixth at 141' 5".
In running events, freshman
Zoey Holmes collected a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:00.17 while
Reagan Murphy was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.23 seconds.
Wayne State competes again Saturday in Vermillion at the University of South Dakota Challenge.
