Reilly Young and
Kailee Kellum recorded event wins while senior thrower
Hailey Baker hit an NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw Saturday for the Wayne State women's track and field team at the Loper Invite held in Kearney.
           Young, a senior from Central Valley HS, had a winning mark of 158' 11" to take first in the discus and also added a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw at 162' 5".
           Kellum, a sophomore from Broken Bow, posted a first-place finish in the triple jump with a top leap of 36' 10 ½" and was third in the long jump at 17' 10 ¼".
           Baker, a senior thrower from Blair, produced a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 179' 0".
           Second-place finishes were recorded by
Kaitlyn Bloomenrader in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.51 while freshman
Reagan Murphy had a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.99 to go with a third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.33 seconds.Â
           Third-places in the meet went to
Torrance Tso in the discus at 150' 11",
Alyssa Folds in the 100-meter dash at 12.63 seconds and
Zoey Holmes in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.07.
           Other top finishers for the Wildcats saw
Lindsey Kneifl take fourth in the long jump (16' 10 ¾"),
Sydney Escritt was fourth in the 1,500-meter run at 5:13.18 and
Meghan Cunningham was fifth in the 800-meter run at 2:26.41.
           Sixth-place finishes came from
Olivia Schwarzrock in the shot put (42' 6"),
Alyssa Folds in the 200-meter dash (26.28),
Jozlyn Barnes in the 800-meter run at 2:28.26 and Madi McKie in the 1,500-meter run (5:18.94).
            Jaryn Warecjka was seventh in the long jump (16' 3 ¼") and
Jerika Bakenhus took eighth in the high jump clearing 5' ¾".
            Wayne State's next meet is Wednesday afternoon when the Wildcats travel to Yankton for the Mount Marty Twilight Meet.       Â
