Senior thrower
Reilly Young recorded a third-place finish in the discus to lead several Wayne State athletes who competed Friday and Saturday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines.
Young produced a third-place finish in a stellar field of throwers with a mark of 162' 9", trailing only Iowa's Sydnie Smith (171' 7") and Charlotte Frere of Augustana (Ill.) at 163' 10".
Sophomore
Torrance Tso also competed in the discus and was 16
th overall with a top throw of 143' 7".
Senior
Hailey Baker was in the hammer throw Saturday morning and just missed finals taking 11
th with a mark of 177' 10" while the 4 x 100 meter relay team of
Elizabeth Mayer,
Zoey Holmes,
Reagan Murphy and
Alyssa Folds ran in the prelims Friday morning and posted a time of 49.07 seconds to finish 23
rd overall.
Wayne State's next meet is Wednesday afternoon when the Wildcats venture to Mankato, Minnesota for the Maverick Open #1 meet.
