USD Early Bird Invite Final Results

Mckenzie Scheil and
Brooklynn Chipps each posted top 10 finishes in the hammer throw and shot put to lead the Wayne State College women's track and field team Saturday at the South Dakota Early Bird Invite at Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion, South Dakota.
           In the weight throw, Wayne State had five of the top 14 finishers in a large field of 74 throwers from NCAA Division I, II and NAIA ranks. Graduate student
Mckenzie Scheil took fourth at 184' 11 ¾" followed by junior
Brooklynn Chipps in fifth at 184' 3 ½".Â
Kendra Paasch was 10th (160' 4") with
Nicole Heeren 13th at 154' 11 ½" and
Jadin Wagner placing 14th with a mark of 153' 9 ¼".
           In the shot put, Scheil finished seventh at 44' 2" while Chipps collected a ninth place mark of 43' 9 ¾".
           Senior
Allie Rosener picked up a 10th place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:42.72.
          Three Wildcats placed in the top 12 in the triple jump with
Keyla Sambo taking ninth at 36' 1 ½", sophomore
Emily Smollen was 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 35' 8 ½" while freshman
Emily Erickson took 12th at 33' 8 ½".Â

Reilly Young was 13th in the discus among 65 throwers with a top toss of 136' 2".
           The next meet for the Wildcats will be Friday and Saturday April 8 and 9 at the Sioux City Relays. Â
