UNK/Central Nebraska Challenge Final Results
Logan Moeller and
Dylan Kneifl posted NCAA provisional marks Saturday afternoon and evening to lead the Wayne State's men's track and field team at the UNK Loper Invitational in Kearney held at Kearney High School Track. The meet showcased 15 teams from NCAA Division I and II and NAIA levels.
Moeller, a sophomore from Pierce (Pierce HS), picked up a first-place finish in the long jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 24' 8 ¾" that now ranks third in NCAA Division II. He also picked up a second-place finish in the triple jump with a top leap of 46' 6".
Kneifl, a junior from Pilger (Wisner-Pilger HS), recorded a second-place finish in the high jump clearing 6' 8 ¾", an NCAA provisional mark that now sits tied for 13
th in NCAA Division II.
Freshman
Keaton Wattier took second in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.87 seconds,
Daylin Mallory came in third in the discus (152' 5") and
Braden Johnson was third in the long jump at 23' 2 ¾".
Three Wildcats placed in the shot put led by
Daniel Elge in fourth (51' 1 ½"),
Daylin Mallory sixth (49' 11 ¼") and
Drake Peed was eighth overall at 49' 4 ¼".
Freshman
Jordan Porter was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 10.87 seconds,
Titus Kiptoo seventh in the 5,000-meter run (15:49.06),
Grant Fritsch seventh in the discus (144' 5") and
Brandon Mundorf ninth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:05.45.
The Wildcat 4 x 400 meter relay team of
Mitchell Rudie, Gabe Peitz,
Wyatt Nissen and
Austin Madsen finished fourth in a time of 3:27.88.
The Wildcats will compete again on Friday and Saturday at the South Dakota Early Bird Invite in Vermillion.
