UNK/Central Nebraska Challenge Final Results

Reilly Young and
Mckenzie Scheil picked up event wins for the Wayne State College women's track and field team Saturday afternoon and evening at the UNK Loper/Central Nebraska Challenge held in Kearney at the Kearney High School Track.
            The Wildcats had two NCAA provisional marks as throwers
Mckenzie Scheil and
Brooklynn Chipps placed first and second in the hammer throw with marks of 199' 4" and 198' 1" respectively, now ranking third and fourth in NCAA Division II. Scheil also finished fifth in the shot put (43' 7 ¼") and Chipps ninth at 39' 1 ¾".
          Young, a redshirt sophomore from Scotia (Central Valley HS), captured a first-place finish in the discus with a winning mark of 154' 10".
            Senior
Kendra Paasch placed in three events, taking fourth in the shot put (43' 10 ¾"), fourth in the discus (142' 5") and seventh in the hammer throw at 164' 1".

Emily Smollen had a pair of three finishes in the long jump and triple jump, taking second in the triple jump (35' 10 ½") and third in the long jump (17' 4 ¾")

Maya Couch finished sixth in the 100-meter dash (12.49) and was seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.78).
           Three Wildcats placed in the 5,000-meter run as
Kelsey Larsen was sixth in 19:04.16,
Lindsey Stuckey eighth at 19:09.17 and
Kylie Pachta ninth at 19:11.02.

Hailey Baker was sixth overall in the hammer throw at 167' 9".
           Wayne State will compete next weekend at the South Dakota Early Bird Invite in Vermillion, South Dakota Friday and Saturday.
