The Wayne State women's track and field team recorded five event wins Friday at the Loper Invitational Track and Field Meet held in Kearney. The meet attracted a strong field of NCAA Division II teams from host Nebraska-Kearney along with Fort Hays State, Chadron State, Colorado Christian, Colorado College and South Dakota Mines along with Nebraska Wesleyan and Dodge City Community College from Kansas.
Sophomore
Anna Coffee had a first-place finish in the javelin at 119' 2" and was third in the high jump clearing 5' 2 ¼".
Wayne freshman
Brooklyn Kruse notched a win in the shot put at 42' 4 ¼" and was third in the discus with a top mark of 143' 4".
Freshman
Callie Kirchner posted a first-place finish in the 1,500-meter run at 4:49.86.
Reilly Young placed first in the discus at 146' 9" and seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 154' 6".
Senior
Emily Smollen had a first-place finish in the long jump with a top mark of 17' 5 ½".
Hailey Baker recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw, placing second at 178' 3" and finished fourth in the invitational shot put at 39' 7 ¼".
McKenna Markle took second in the shot put (39' 2 ½") and was fifth in the hammer throw at 157' 10".
Maya Couch recorded a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 25.44 seconds and
Jozlyn Barnes took eighth in the 800-meter run at 2:28.36.

Camryn Clevenger taking fourth in the javelin (102' 3"),
Paige Condon fifth in the high jump (5' ¼"),
Olivia Schwarzrock sixth in the hammer throw at 157' 6",
Torrance Tso seventh in the shot put (37' 8 ¾"),
Jerika Bakenhus eighth in the high jump clearing 4' 10 ¼" and
Brooke Languis eighth in the invitational shot put at 38' 6".
Wayne State will compete Tuesday at the Dakota State Invite in Madison, South Dakota and Wednesday at the Mount Marty Twilight Invite in Yankton, South Dakota.
