Wildcat women compete at Dordt Classic

            Sophomore Allie Czapla was the top Wildcat finisher Saturday morning for the Wayne State women's cross country team at the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic held in Sioux Center, Iowa.  The Wildcats finished 17th in the team standings with a team score of 454 points.
            Minnesota State captured the team title with 28 points followed by host Dordt in second place at 59 points.  South Dakota State (76), Augustana (101) and Benedictine (Kan.) with 190 points rounded out the top five team scores.
            Czapla was the first Wildcat runner to cross the finish line on the 6,000-meter course with a time of 23:25.90 to place 85th out of 150 runners.  Junior Callie Kirchner was next for WSC in 93rd place at 23:41.93 with Sydney Escritt taking 114th with a time of 24:19.21.
            Freshman Kyla Krusemark took 126th in 24:52.47 followed by Madeline Kunz at 127th in a time of 24:54.23.
            Other Wildcat finishers were Kaitlyn Bloomenrader (130th – 25:03.15), Meghan Cunningham (131st – 25:03.49), Maelee Beacom (138th – 25:37.62) and Madi McKie (140th – 25:57.39).
            Wayne State's next meet is Friday, October 24th when the Wildcats host the Northern Sun Conference Championships at the Wayne Country Club with the women's race starting at 12 p.m.
