Wayne State College finished in 12
th place with a team score of 325 point Friday afternoon at the Northern Sun Conference Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Wayne State and held at the Wayne Country Club. Sophomore
Allie Czapla was the top Wildcat finisher in the event taking 58
th place overall out of a field of 139 runners.
Winona State captured the team title with 28 points to finish ahead of second-place Minnesota State's 57 points. Minnesota Duluth came in third at 88 points, just ahead of Augustana (90) and UMary with 127 points to close out the top five teams.
Jamestown edged Minnesota Crookston 223-224 for sixth place with Sioux Falls eighth at 256 points. Northern State (265) and Bemidji State (272) closed out the top 10 teams. Rounding out the team scoring were MSU Moorhead (323), just ahead of 12
th place Wayne State's 325. Minot State (337), Southwest Minnesota State (383), Concordia-St. Paul (428) and St. Cloud State (447) filled out the team standings.
Czapla was the top Wildcat runner crossing the finish line on the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:17.3, placing 58
th overall from a field of 139 runners. Wayne freshman
