Wayne State College finished in 12^th place with a team score of 325 point Friday afternoon at the Northern Sun Conference Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Wayne State and held at the Wayne Country Club.  Sophomore Allie Czapla was the top Wildcat finisher in the event taking 58^th place overall out of a field of 139 runners.
            Winona State captured the team title with 28 points to finish ahead of second-place Minnesota State's 57 points.  Minnesota Duluth came in third at 88 points, just ahead of Augustana (90) and UMary with 127 points to close out the top five teams.
            Jamestown edged Minnesota Crookston 223-224 for sixth place with Sioux Falls eighth at 256 points.  Northern State (265) and Bemidji State (272) closed out the top 10 teams.  Rounding out the team scoring were MSU Moorhead (323), just ahead of 12^th place Wayne State's 325.  Minot State (337), Southwest Minnesota State (383), Concordia-St. Paul (428) and St. Cloud State (447) filled out the team standings.
            Czapla was the top Wildcat runner crossing the finish line on the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:17.3, placing 58^th overall from a field of 139 runners.  Wayne freshman Kyla Krusemark was next for WSC in 67^th place overall at 24:25.0 and junior Callie Kirchner took 73^rd with a time of 24:31.6.
            Other Wildcat runners to contribute to the team scoring were Kaitlyn Bloomenrader in 92^nd place at 25:17.9 and Sydney Escritt was 97^th in 25:31.6. 
            Other Wayne State runners included Maelee Beacom (99^th – 25:42.2), Madeline Kunz (115^th – 26:37.7) and Meghan Cunningham (120^th – 27:06.3).
            Wayne State will conclude the 2025 cross country season on Saturday, November 8^th at the NCAA Central Region Championships in Joplin, Missouri at 10 a.m.
