Herschel Neil Invite Final Results
Cade Kalkowski won the weight throw while
Dylan Kneifl,
Brock Hegarty and
Cole Christoffersen each posted second place finishes to lead the Wayne State College men's indoor track and field team Saturday at the Herschel Neil Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri. 12 teams from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska in NCAA Division, NAIA and junior college ranks competed in the meet.
Wayne State had a 1-2-5 finish in the weight throw, led by Kalkowski who took first place with a mark of 65' 0".
Cole Christoffersen took second at 61' 2" with
Grant Fritsch placing fifth at 48' 0".
In the high jump, freshman
Dylan Kneifl cleared a season-best 6' 6" to come in second place with
Aaron English clearing 6' 2" to finish fourth.
Brock Hegarty recorded a second place finish in the one mile run at 4:25.19 with
Brandon Mundorf placing eighth in a time of 4:37.70.
In the 5,000-meter run, senior
Bailey Peckham was third at 16:02.37 with
Collin Kotz seventh (16:49.02).
Other top Wildcat finishers were
Mikhail Sands fifth in the long jump (21' 5 ¼"),
Noah Lilly sixth in the 60-meter hurdle finals in 8.74 seconds and
Michael Kueny sixth in the 600 yard dash at 1:16.51.
Wayne State will compete again on Friday, February 5
th at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota.
