SDSU Last Chance Invite Final Results

Dylan Kneifl broke his own school record in the high jump Saturday afternoon clearing 6' 11 ½" to take first place to lead the Wayne State men's indoor track and field team at the South Dakota State Last Chance Invite held in Brookings, South Dakota at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The host Jackrabbits edged Sioux Falls 162-136 for the men's team title with Augustana holding back Wayne State for third with the Vikings scoring 77 points to Wayne State's 73 while Northern State was fifth at 69 points.
Kneifl, a junior from Wisner-Pilger HS, cleared 6' 11 ½" on his final attempt to take first place in the high jump. He passes his previous school mark of 6' 10 ¾" set January 21 at the Polar Dog Invite in Seward and now moves into 11
th place in NCAA Division II with the new personal best mark.
Also recording a first-place finish for the Wildcats was sophomore
Braden Johnson in the long jump at 22' 1 ¾".
Brandon Mundorf posted a second-place finish in the 1,000-meter run (2:31.62) with teammate
Quentin Dreyer right behind in third at 2:33.40.
Freshman
Keaton Wattier came in second in the 60-meter hurdles finals at 8.32 seconds with
Debonaire Williams eighth at 8.66.
Junior Gabe Peitz was third in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:23.64 with freshman
Mitchell Rudie taking sixth at 1:24.97.
In the 60-meter dash finals, freshman
Jordan Porter was fourth at 7.01 seconds with
Caid McCart sixth at 7.12.
The shot put saw sophomore
Daniel Elge finish sixth (48' 3 ½"),
Daylin Mallory seventh at 48' 1 ¾" and
Jake Peitz eighth at 46' 9". Peitz also took seventh in the weight throw (50' 5 ½"),
Waylon Sherman was sixth in the 200-meter dash at 22.92 seconds and
Alex Leuenberger placed eighth in the 400-meter dash at 50.90 seconds.
Wayne State will compete Friday and Saturday at the Northern Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Mankato, Minnesota.
