Wildcat Classic Final Results
Pierce sophomore
Logan Moeller opened the outdoor track and field season Saturday with a first-place finish in the long jump to lead the Wildcat men's team at the Wildcat Classic held at Leroy Simpson Track. The meet attracted 14 teams in NCAA Division I and II along with NAIA schools.
The Wildcats had four of the top five finishers in the long jump, led Moeller's first place mark of 24' 7". Wayne natives Mason Lee and
Cody Rogers came in third and fourth respectively with marks of 22' 11 ¾" and 22' 2 ½" with
Braden Johnson taking fifth at 22' 1 ¾".
Fourth place finishers included
Daniel Elge in the shot put at 50' 9 ¼",
Brandon Mundorf in the 1,500-meter run (4:11.24),
Keaton Wattier in the 110-meter hurdle finals in 15.26 seconds and
Brandon Mitzel in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:22.42.
Sophomore
Alex Brandt placed fifth in the javelin with a mark of 142' 8",
Grant Fritsch was sixth in the hammer throw at 171' 9" and
Wyatt Sindelar finished eighth (166' 11").
Freshman
Quentin Dreyer was seventh in the 1,500-meter run at 4:14.10 while
Drake Peed finished eighth in the discus (149' 11 ¼") and
Titus Kiptoo was eighth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:42.80.
Wayne State will compete again next Saturday at the Central Nebraska Invite hosted by Nebraska-Kearney.
