The Wayne State College men's cross country team took 11
th place Friday afternoon with a team score of 280 points at the 2025 Northern Sun Conference Men's Cross Country Championships held at the Wayne Country Club and hosted by Wayne State College. Senior
Brody Lucas was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line taking 42
nd place overall.
Augustana repeated as team champion with a team score of 27 points, well ahead of runner-up MSU Moorhead with 73 points. Minnesota State took third at 77 points with UMary (123) and Minnesota Crookston (175) rounding out the top five teams.
Winona State was sixth at 187 points with Sioux Falls (227), Concordia-St. Paul (230), Minnesota Duluth (246) and Jamestown (254) closing out the top 10. Wayne State was 11
th at 280 followed by Minot State (343), Southwest Minnesota State (375) and Northern State (397).
Lucas covered the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:51.40 to be the first Wildcat finisher. Freshman
Lucas Frazier followed in 53
rd place out of a field of 145 runners at 27:13.77. Junior
Brady Franzen came in 64
th place with a time of 27:31.98 and sophomore
William Keller was 88
th in 28:05.79.
Freshman Drew Martin closed out the team scoring runners for the 'Cats in 92
